GPTLive1 is an independent site. We are not affiliated with, endorsed by, or connected to OpenAI. We explain OpenAI's GPT-Live voice models in plain English and provide our own free in-browser text-to-speech tool powered by separate voice technology.

Who runs this

I'm Ethan Park, an independent engineer who builds and breaks real-time voice AI for a living. I spent years wiring up streaming speech pipelines — latency budgets, full-duplex turn-taking, TTS voice cloning — long before conversational voice models went mainstream.

When OpenAI shipped GPT-Live in July 2026, the internet filled up with hot takes and very little that actually explained how it works. So I started GPTLive1 to cut through the hype: plain-English explainers of full-duplex voice, honest comparisons against the older Advanced Voice Mode, and a free text-to-speech tool so you can hear natural AI voice for yourself instead of just reading about it.
